Bettye J. Kline was born on May 28, 1924 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to her parents John Louis and Vora Terwilliger.  She passed away on August 14, 2017, in Fort Myers, Florida.
Bettye is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Roy Howard of Fort Myers, FL, and one daughter in law, Betty Kline of White Hall, AR. She is also survived by 3 siblings in Arkansas: a sister, Nadine Harlan of Fort Smith,  a brother, Charles Terwilliger of Fort Smith and a sister in law, Helen Terwilliger of Russellville.  She had 5 grandchildren and a host of great and great great grandchildren. Bettye is preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Conley Kline and two sons,Frankie Ray Kline and Roy Lee Kline.
Bettye was a caring and loving wife, mom and grandmother. She loved the Lord and her church. She was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Geyer Springs First Baptist Church of Little Rock (AR) and of McGregor Baptist Church in Fort Myers. She served in the kitchen and clothes closet ministries of her churches and volunteered at local hospitals in Fort Smith and Benton (AR). She loved to play cards, work jigsaw puzzles, talk on the phone and eat lunch with friends. She was a good cook but often made her own substitutions and rarely followed the actual directions. Bettye loved eating junk food - Cheetos, candy and nuts. She never met a stranger, befriending people of all ages while inviting them to church.
Cremation has been entrusted to Harvey-Engelhardt Funeral Home.  Bettye will be laid to rest with her late husband at the Fort Smith National Cemetery on December 28,2017. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to Trinity Baptist Church (3619 North 6th Street, Ft. Smith, AR 72904) or "the Go getters" Sunday school class at Mcgregor Baptist Church (McGregor.net; 3750 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33966)
