Eugene E. Pope was born on June 3, 1924 in Stillwater, OK to his parents James and Chloe Pope. He passed away on February 4, 2017 in Ft. Myers, FL.
Gene is survived by his cherished companion Joy Hofmann; children Gene Michael (Donna) Pope and Marlys Burgett; grandchildren Todd (Jody) Pope, Shannon French, and Seth Burgett; great grandchildren; and many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. Gene is preceded in death by his late wife Barbara June Pope; his parents; and 5 brothers.
Gene was a proud WWII Marine Corps Pilot veteran. He loved flying remote control airplanes and sail boats. He enjoyed working with his hands doing carpentry work and wood carving. His true passions in life were his family and friends.
