I have so many fond memories of Skip and Judy. They always made us feel welcome and your house was a home away from home. Skip was funny, kind and such a wonderful father to Kim and Dan. He put up with thousands of screaming teenage girls so we could go to our first concert. I know he will be greatly missed. Sending my love to your family

We are sorry for your loss. We enjoyed Skip and family while visiting in Butler, Pa. Lots of fond memories over the years, especially when Kim and Dan were young children. We will continue to pray for all of you at this time. Tracy and Mark Browe, Fort Thomas,, Ky.

Shaffer Family, i was very sorry to hear of Skip’s passing. I will always maintain the fondest memories of growing up on Menominee with your dad and your family as neighbors and friends. Whether it was camping in Boy Scouts, Christmas Eve Dinners, Canoe Trips in Boundary Waters, or your Dad and family opening your doors to us when we had our house fire. Skip and your family’s warm hearts and friendship in those years bring back big smiles and comfort whenever remembered. Skip will be missed but never forgotten by this Menominee Alum. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Love, Jason

It's hard to put into words how great of a man Skip was. He was kind, gentle and welcoming.
From the first time I met him I knew that we would get along. He poured me a pint glass full of Bourbon and kicked me into the snow to goto church on Christmas Eve. I'll never forget how crazy that glass was or how much fun I had drinking it with him. Whenever we were with him life was good. He made it easy to be around him with that big smile and giant heart. He loved cooking for us, amazing things like his all world burgers and ribs. His love of steak and Port is the stuff of legend and every meal I shared with him holds a special place in my heart. We would sit on his veranda and let warm Florida breezes wash over us while our kids played in his pool. He'd jump in every now and then to play with them because he adored them and I'm sure they'll never forget it. In the end Skip was the most generous man I've ever met because he gave me the thing closest to his heart, his beautiful daughter Kim. Without Skip I never would've met my soul mate so thank you Skip, thank you for all you've done for me and my family. I will miss you and think of you every day, I will teach my children to honor your memory and the lessons you taught them. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal". I'll love you forever. Michael
