Lee Wayne McClellan, 60, passed away with family by his side on Monday August 21st 2017 in Fort Myers, Florida. Born in Newark, New Jersey on February 8th 1957, he was the son of Joan Peters McClellan and Lee James McClellan. He graduated from Lafayette College, where he became a lifelong brother of the Chi Phi Fraternity, in 1978. Lee, nicknamed Chief to represent his Native American heritage, worked as a distribution manager in the textile industry and later on owned a private limousine service. He retired early in age to care for his handicapped son, Sean McClellan.
Lee enjoyed watching the daily news and was very interested in military history. He was an avid Nascar fan and attended many races. He also followed both professional football and golf as a sports fan. Lee was an active golfer with friends and enjoyed weekends on the golf course. He will be remembered for his loving nature as a family man, witty humor, and his sharp intelligence.
Lee was the husband of Denise Denny McClellan. They shared 26 years of marriage together. He is survived by his loving wife Denise, his four children, Amy, Victoria, Sean, and Sarah, and his two grandchildren, Alexis and Aiden. He was predeceased by his parents, Lee and Joan.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday August 26th 2017 at 4:00 pm at Harvey-Engelhardt Funeral and Cremation Services, 1600 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33907. A repass dinner will follow the service and will be held at Fine Mark National Bank and Trust 12681 Creekside Lane Fort Myers, FL 33919. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Lee’s name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to help improve the lives of future pancreatic cancer patients.
