Richard S. Borsa Sr.

August 11, 1925 ~ April 18, 2024 (age 98) 98 Years Old

Tribute

Richard S Borsa Sr. (Dick), 98.

Richard was born August 11, 1925 in Rochester, NY to Silvio and Louise. Richard was married to his lifelong sweetheart Jodi for 64 years. They had one son, Richard Jr., who later in life grew to become his best friend. Richard Sr. was drafted out of high school and served two years overseas with the Army during WWII 1944-1946, earning a Purple Heart for his dedicated service. After his honorable discharge from the military, he worked for another 45 years with the USPS and enjoyed a part-time position with the evening Times Union for over 30 years. While Richard lived in Rochester for most of his life, adventure and love of family was never ending for him. He relocated to Ft. Myers, Florida in 2023 and did something he said he never would do….started wearing shorts!

Richard is predeceased by his wife Josephine Borsa (2008), only son Richard Borsa Jr (2024), father Silvio, mother Louise, brother Rocky and several brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his granddaughters Jennifer Bulling (Kevin), Angela Borsa (Chuck Caranci); grandchildren Christopher (CJ) and Ryan Elmendorf, Madison, Mason and Mitchell Bulling; niece Shirley, Jim, Chris, Debbie and families. So many extended family members and longtime family friends; Wendy, Lindy, Adrianna, Carl and Brenda, his cherished Baywinde friends and like-a-brother, John. Beverly, Jessica, Richara, David K, Tom S, and more than we can name, he loved you all like family! His love was as large as his life was long.

If you had the pleasure of knowing our Grandpa, may the sight of a sweater vest, automatically make you smile and feel joy in your heart. He enjoyed everyday of his life and he kept track of you all!

Funeral Services will be held at White Haven Memorial Park, Friday, May 10th at 9:30 with military burial immediately following. The family is extending an invitation to join them for breakfast afterwards at The Nutcracker on Empire Blvd.
