Austin Tomlinson passed into eternal rest on December 5, 2017 in Fort Myers, FL at the age of 93. He as born in Perry, FL to parents, Enoch and Ruby Tomlinson. Austin served his country with bravery and honor in the United States Army during World War II, fighting in the Battle of Normandy in France. After his military service, he met and married the love of his life, Ms. Eva Sessions in 1949. In 1954, they moved to Fort Myers from Copeland, FL and raised a family. Austin and Eva were active in the Salvation Army, as well as Crossroads Baptist Church in Fort Myers, FL.
Austin will be dearly missed by his wife of 68 years, Eva Tomlinson; two sons, Austin Douglas (wife Janice) and Brian Keith Tomlinson; three grandchildren, Justin, Jake, Rachelle Johnson and Sarah Tomlinson; and five great grandchildren.
Visitation hours will be held on Monday December 11, 2017 from 6PM to 8PM at Harvey Engelhardt Funeral Home in Fort Myers. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 11AM at the Salvation Army Chapel on McGregor Blvd. in Fort Myers, followed by interment in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
