Catalina Charles Barnhart, born April 30, 1919 in Yoakum, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home in Immokalee, Florida on September 30, 2021. She was surrounded, as she often was, by her loving family. She is survived by her children, Obdilia Fragoso, Obdulia Sarmienta, Bernardo C. Barnhart Jr. (Juanita), Maria Isabel Barnhart Nevarez, Juan Barnhart (Veronica), Alina Adame (Rene), Belinda Barnhart Sanchez, Sergio Barnhart (Minerva), Benito Barnhart, and Salvador Barnhart (Heather). She was also lovingly cared for by Beatriz Rodriguez, who is now and forevermore a part of her heart and family. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernardo Barnhart Sr. and her children Aida Barnhart and Jesus Barnhart.
Her faith, determination and honesty were unparalleled and continue to be an inspiration for her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and beyond. She will always be remembered for her unwavering honesty, grace and irrefutable strength.
Although we will mourn her passing, we are grateful for the 102 years of life that she was granted. A woman ahead of her time, her legacy will continue to live on in the lives of all who were privileged to call her mother, grandmother, family and friend.
Services to be held as follows:
Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, located at 207 S 9th St in Immokalee, FL where Mrs. Barnhart was a member.
Masks are mandatory.
Burial to be held on Wednesday, October 6,2021 at 12:30 PM at Fort Myers Cemetery, located at 3200 Michigan Avenue in Fort Myers, FL.
