David Dean Bos, 76, of Ft. Myers died Tuesday June 18, 2019 at his home. He was born in LaPorte, IN in 1943 to Dean and Ruby Bos. David graduated from Clinton Township High School in Union Mills, IN. He then attended Ball State University where he played baseball, receiving a minor league offer, and graduated with a Master’s in Education. He began his teaching career in Westville, IN where he met his future wife. David married Peggy in 1971 and together they moved to Ft. Myers in 1974. He was a teacher at Allen Park Elementary and Suncoast/N. Ft. Myers Academy of Arts. During his teaching tenure he was recognized as the Lee County Teacher of the Year, and went on to be named one of the top five educators in the state of Florida. He retired in 2012 after 38 years of service. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church, coached Little League teams and YMCA basketball, and assisted with the City of Palms Basketball Tournament for over 30 years. He was involved in community projects such as Holiday House and the Edison Parade. His favorite sports team was the Chicago Cubs and whichever teams he coached for his son.
He is survived by his loving wife and son, Peggy and Sean-David. He is also survived by his dear sister, Sandra, and his many beloved sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Please visit www.harvey-engelhardt.com to view David’s life tribute
