A Celebration of Life

David (Dave) George Buckel Jr.
” To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens.”
                                                                                                                                      -Ecclesiastes 3: 1

David G. Buckel was born June 21, 1964 to David and Marilyn Buckel.  He began his life in Parma, OH where he graduated from Normandy High School in 1982.  After graduation, Dave attended Baldwin College and graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts.

Following graduation from Baldwin Wallace, Dave accepted employment with the Drug Enforcement Administration. He served as a DEA agent until he retired in 2019, having served proudly in Detroit MI, the Washington DC area, Afghanistan, and Arkansas.

One of Dave’s proudest moments was at the birth of his daughter, Jessica Ann Buckel (Gray).  She was and continued to be a crown jewel in his life as they shared in father/daughter activities.

On Sept. 8, 1995 Dave married his best friend Tamara Kinamore (Buckel).  They began their life together in Stafford, VA where they lived for several years. Their recent move to Fort Myers in April 2019 with their three rescue dogs, Stella, Buster and Frankie, was most welcomed by Dave’s parents who reside in Naples, Florida.

Dave’s life was marked by his love for all things outdoors.  His love for fishing and hunting was second only to his love and dedication to his family and closest friends David and Elizabeth Stanfield.  His joy was not just in the catch or the kill, but in the pleasure he gave to others when sharing his bounty. Dave had gifted hands in the kitchen and took great joy in preparing meals not only for Tamara and Jessica but for anyone who loved to eat.  In his short time in Fort Myers, his neighbors grew to cherish his helping hands as he was always willing and eager to assist.

Dave lived a full life as a doting husband, loving father, and caretaker for his parents. On October 19, 2019 Dave fulfilled his purpose in this life and was called home. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

He leaves to mourn his passing and to celebrate his life his wife Tamara, daughter Jessica Buckel Gray (Deshawn), father David Sr., mother Marilyn, sister Rene Buckel Oliver (Robert), aunt Nadine Buckel Neira (Joseph), aunt Roberta Buckel Barilla, uncle Dennis Buckel and deceased wife Rosemary, mother-in-law Donna Nance, and sister-in-law Piper Kinamore.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to any animal shelter. While Dave was in Arkansas, he adopted a dog from Bryant Animal Control and Adoption Center: https://www.cityofbryant.com/1171/How-to-Help
