Doris Delseata Leslie

Doris Delseata Leslie, 73, of Lehigh Acres, Fl passed away July 23, 2022. She was born in Bull Savanah St. Elizabeth, Jamaica in 1949 to her parents Daniel and Mavis Rochester, who preceded her in death.  Doris moved to Brooklyn, NY in
1969 and in 1970 married the love of her life Austin M. Leslie. They lived in Brooklyn, began their family and worked in Manhattan NY. Doris worked for New York Life, Alexander & Alexander and Aon Insurance companies combined for over 30 years. She saw retirement coming for both her and Austin. She visited Florida and decided to buy land and build their Forever home near the Lehigh Seventh Day Adventist church that she fell in love with. Austin moved down from New York with Doris soon following. They lived so very happy, quite content enjoyed their brand new home built in 2005. Austin was called home in 2016 leaving behind his beloved Dor Dor.  Doris continued on although not easy without her "Soney". She wasn't just a member of the Lehigh SDA church, she also served on the board being the head of decorating. She took pleasure in beautifying the church and other events. Doris loved sewing and creating a variety of handmade creations for family, friends and her church. 
Survivors include her daughter Annette Leslie of Lehigh Acres, her son Patrick Leslie and Tieja Leslie (daughter in law) of Jacksonville, Fl, one Uncle Fitz Wright , two brothers Lloyd Rochester and Shian Rochester, four sisters; Karen Rochester-Smith, Karla Rochester, Jackie Powell and Denise Bowen, her grandson Joel Leslie, a host of Cousins, Nieces and Nephews, her grand puppy Riley Leslie and her beloved cat DJ Leslie.
A memorial service will be celebrated at a later time at her church in Lehigh Acres FL.
