Edward Velez was a great father, an amazing grandfather, a caring brother, and a loving husband to his wife Tina. He was the uncle who would always make sure you felt loved and cared for.
Edward loved his country, and he was a proud veteran. His family is honored and blessed to have known him and his love for his country and his fondness of his years of service.
Edward would take his children everywhere, though he never had much money, he and Tina would always pull together what they could, and go without to bring their kids places, or to get a present for Christmas or their birthdays. They always worked hard and tried their very best.
Edward loved Tina more than anything. And Tina loved Edward more than life itself. This December 12th marked 34 years of them being together. Tina was 17 when they first started dating. No matter what they've gone through, Edward and Tina stuck it out together. Their children admired that example of commitment in marriage, to never give up, to always believe in the best of each other, and to help each other become better every day. Edward and Tina did that for one another.
Edward passed away on December 16th, 2020. This was his favorite time of the year, and his family wants to honor him every year and carry on his memory and love for the holidays.
Edward leaves behind his wife Tina, his son Brandon, his son Eric, and his daughter Krystal.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 4PM to 6PM at the Harvey Engelhardt Chapel. Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
