Tribute

Eldis Eugene Chandler (73) was born on April 26, 1946 in Atlanta, Georgia, to his parents, the late Allen Eldis and Ruth Ann Chandler. Eldis passed away in Fort Myers Florida on June 25, 2019, after a lengthy battle with throat cancer and related issues.

Eldis is survived by his only son, Brian (Tina) Chandler, grandsons Bobby and Christopher Chandler, step-grandson Karjan McGill, niece Ashley Thieme, and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by Gayle, his beloved wife of 47 years in October, 2014.

Eldis was an automobile mechanic for his entire life, and was the owner and operator of Eldis Chandler Auto Service and Repair in Fort Myers from 1993 until his retirement in 2016. When not working, Eldis was an avid bowler for many years, a member of the Araba Shriners with the 'Tin Lizzies', and enjoyed watching New York Yankees baseball, but dedicated the majority of his time to his family. His son and grandsons were the lights of his life. Eldis was a founding member of Crossroads Baptist Church and remained dedicated to his Christian faith.
