Gary L. McBride

Gary L. McBride, 76, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away surrounded by family and friends on December 11, 2018. He was born in Sterling, Illinois to Burdette and Bethel McBride in 1942. He graduated from Sterling High School class of 1960. After High School Gary served 4 years honorably in The United States Navy. He met his wife, Susan of 53 years while stationed at Fort Meade in Maryland. Gary and Susan moved to Fort Myers, Florida in 1973. Prior to his illness Gary enjoyed outdoor activities which included baseball, fishing, hunting and golfing to name just a few. He was adventurous and fun.

Gary is survived by his wife, Susan, his two brothers Michael (Rebecca) and Morris (Kim) and his mother Bethel. He was pre-deceased by Sister Nita Wade. Gary never met anyone he didn’t become friends with and all will sadly miss him.

A memorial service will be held to honor Gary’s life on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 at Harvey Engelhardt Funeral Home.
