Trudy was the mother of my first friend, Cacia, and became my friend, too. She was loyal, strong, and always a lady. I remember breakfast rolls from a bakery and napkins cut in half. I remember red lipstick and Mammy Yokums. She attended my graduations and wedding and never forgot a birthday or an anniversary. Her cards always included typewritten notes. I was honored to attend her birthday party last October - what an event! Rest in God's peace, dear Trudy.
