Harold Wayne Bates

Wayne Bates, of Alva, Florida passed away peacefully at home on August 30, 2021 at the age of 77. Wayne was born on July 19, 1944 in Arcadia, Florida to parents, Harold and Gladys Bates. Wayne spent the best part of his life residing in Alva, FL with his family. He was a wonderful father and a great teacher. He reveled in his role as a grandfather. Wayne loved the people in his life. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family - especially his grandchildren.

Wayne will be dearly missed by his children; Michelle Grigsby, Ethan and his wife, Shazeeda Bates, Brandy Detzel and her husband, James Detzel, grandchildren; Kailey Grigsby, Ruby and Riley Detzel, and Ethan Bates, Jr., as well as sister, Patricia Smith, and of course his beloved pets; Pearl, Hunter, and Buddy.
