Harry Ernest Durbin

Harry Ernest Durbin, age 80, of Hale Michigan, passed on Tuesday February 26, 2019.
Harry was born April 27, 1938 in Detroit Michigan the son of Ralph and Dorothy (Kew) Durbin. Harry
was a graduate of Bloomfield Hills High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Building
Construction Management from Michigan State University. Harry remained an avid fan and supporter
of MSU throughout his life. Harry took a job in Moline, Illinois after graduating and subsequently
relocated to Ann Arbor, Michigan. Not long after relocating to Ann Arbor, Harry started his own building
and development company and became a premier, and award winning, homebuilder in the Washtenaw
County area. Harry was a leader in the communities and a member and officer of his local, state, and
national homebuilders associations.

Harry enjoyed time with his many friends and family and enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles and
skiing. He also enjoyed many hobbies including model cars, trains, remote control airplanes, boats and
drones. Harry obtained his pilot license and took many trips in his plane and captained his own boat and accomplished journeys like the “Great Loop”.

Harry is survived by, and will lovingly be remembered by, his wife of 59 years Betsy, their children
Bradley (Lynette) and Anne, his grandchildren, Danielle (Andrew), Kyle, Jennifer, Alec, and Kaila, his
great grandchildren, Riley, Audrey, and Asher, his brothers, Richard (Emily) and Wesley (Janet), brother
in law David (Debby) Arnoldi, and sister in law Deborah Willing. Harry will also forever be remembered
by his extended family and dear friends. Harry was preceded in death by his Parents, sister Christine
and his daughter Laura.
