Joan Wright

Joan Boylan Wright, 95, of Shell Point in Fort Myers, FL on January 8, 2022. She was born February 17, 1926, the daughter of Kenneth and Frances Fitch Boylan. She graduated from Elyria (Ohio) High School and from Oberlin College in 1947, majoring in anthropology.
She married Richard H. Wright on August 22, 1948 in Fairchild Chapel at Oberlin College and worked at Oberlin College for the next three years as secretary to the Secretary of the College, while her husband finished his education.
During their married life, the couple lived in Dayton, OH, Poughkeepsie, NY, Burlington, VT, Sindelfingen, Germany and then in Charlotte, VT, where they retired. During that time, Joan worked at Vassar College, the University of Vermont, and for the town of Charlotte, Vermont.
In 1986, the couple began spending their winters in Estero, FL and their summers on Frye Island, ME. They moved to Shell POint in 2001.
Mrs. Wright is survived by three nieces, Elizabeth Anne Brennand, Margaret Joan Brennand, and Anne Frances Brennand.
Services will be private. Interment will take place at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amhurst, OH.
