John Zachary Soyka Jr

On Tuesday, May 5, 2020, after a long struggle with cancer, John Zack Soyka (74) beloved husband for 47 years of JoAnn, passed away. He is preceded in death by his father John, mother Anna and sister Barbara. He is the father of Ann (Eckel), granddaughter Kayla, grandson Kirk and wife Jessica, and great-grandchildren C.J. and Arya. He was born in Kingston, Pennsylvania on Dec. 12, 1945 and graduated Exeter High School in 1963. He was an employee of Revlon in Edison, N.J. for 37 years and a resident of Fort Myers for 20 years. He enjoyed retirement and was a volunteer at ECHO in North Fort Myers for 10 years and a member of the Board of Directors at The Shores on Fort Myers Beach. He was in the Marine Corps. and had a love of classic cars. He belonged to Tech Central where they restored his 1979 MG Midget. He was awaiting a kidney transplant and encourages anyone to consider donating a kidney to honor him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ECHO to honor their work stamping out hunger all over the world.
