JOHN H. (JACK) WOLFRUM, SR.
John H. (Jack) Wolfrum, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2022, with his family at his side.
Originally from Newburgh, New York, Jack graduated from Newburgh Free Academy, then served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He subsequently earned his BS in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.
Jack met his wife-to-be Catie, the former Catherine Flynn, when they were both working at New York Telephone in Newburgh. They settled in North Greenbush, New York and raised their family: Jacqueline of Ipswich, Massachusetts, Kathleen of Ft. Myers, Florida, John Jr. (Nancy Bartlett) of Ipswich, Massachusetts, Edward (Carolyn) of Lakewood, Colorado and Amy (Eric) Todd of North Adams, Massachusetts. He was grandfather to Harrison and Hudson Todd, and Anne and Grace Wolfrum. Jack also leaves behind Nancy’s daughters Cory and Emily.
Jack was predeceased by Catie, his parents Mary Theresa (Tressa) and Edward Joseph Wolfrum, and his brothers Thomas and Robert. He is survived by sisters-in-law Margaret Murphy and Mary Spreer, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jack was a parishioner of St. Michael's Church of Troy, New York, where he was a Trustee. After moving to Ft. Myers in 2001 for a well-deserved retirement, Jack and Catie were among the founding families of St. John XXIII Catholic Church.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 13060 Palomino Lane, Fort Myers, FL 33912 on a date to be announced. Burial will follow in the Memorial Garden of the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
