Josiah Reuben Dunn

April 20, 1989 ~ December 31, 2021 (age 32)

Josiah Reuben Dunn passed from this life (as we know it) at home on Dec 31, 2021.  Josiah was born on April 20, 1989 to Jeffrey Reuben Dunn and Jennifer Seagroves Dunn.  He is survived by the loving family into which he was born as well as his beloved family created by friendship.
Josiah was the real deal; the most genuine person anyone could ever have the good fortune of knowing.  There wasn’t a mean bone in his body. His love, values and attributes were what made him shine.
Josiah was a natural born musician and artist. He could simply pick up an instrument and express his funkadelic and groovy self.  He didn’t have any need (or desire) to play songs written by others or be a front man. For Josiah, music was about unity, the experience of inclusion and bonding together in a flow state journey.
The big picture was about loving one another, nothing else mattered more.  He loved his family, soul brothers and soul sisters more than life itself and he expressed it.  His big, two-armed hugs were warm, meaningful and mandatory.
Josiah was keenly aware that our time here together as humans on this planet is brief and parting is painful.  Just as Sea otters hold hands to stop them from drifting apart and losing each other when they sleep in the water, he lived solid in the faith we’re eternally bound together in love.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday afternoon January 21, 2022 between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. in the chapel at Harvey-Engelhardt Funeral & Cremation Services 1600 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL, 33907.  The funeral home can be reached at 239-936-2177.
Please join us on a memory train as we share thoughts and memories, laughter, sorrow, tears and love for our beloved Josiah.  For those unable to make it in person, a live stream will be available to join us in spirit.  Please click on the link under the service time on this tribute page to view the gathering on the day of the service.
We all have our own way to honor Josiah’s memory. We have some suggestions for how to contribute to his memory based on was important to him:
From an early age, Josiah struggled from the effects of mild concussions, resulting in autoimmune and neuroendocrine dysfunction. Please consider supporting scientific research into this area.
When the homeless and down on their luck asked for a couple of bucks, Josiah kindly obliged. Please consider doing the same and let them know that someone named Josiah would want them to have it.

Please feel free to share a condolence on the tribute page. Comments will show up on the page within 24 hours of posting.
