Kenneth Thomas Leawood

Kenneth Thomas (Ken) Leawood, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on April 23, 2024.

He was born September 8, 1945, in Lynn, Massachusetts, to the late Thomas and Virginia Bagley Leawood. Kenneth attended Lynn Classical High School and graduated with the Class of 1963. He then attended Northeastern University in Boston, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 1969.

In 1981, Kenneth married the love of his life, Laura Bovio.

Kenneth worked as Human Resources Coordinator in the mental health field from which he retired in 2017. In addition, he was a swim coach for high-school students and young adults for 30 years.

Ever since moving to Fort Myers in 2018, Kenneth and Laura served the Lord faithfully at McGregor Baptist Church. Kenneth served through the food pantry ministry and the choir.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Laura; daughter, Amanda Ranfeld (Andy) of Davenport, Iowa; son, Robert Riley of Salem, Massachusetts; two brothers, Ron Leawood and Tim Leawood, both of Lynn, Massachusetts; two sisters, Kathy Gigalus of Swampscott, Massachusetts, and Sue Morrill of Lynn, Massachusetts; and three grandsons, Samson, Wesley, and Rocky.

A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May14, 2024, in the main chapel of Harvey-Engelhardt Funeral & Cremation Services, 1600 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907. The service will be live-streamed and may be viewed at harvey-engelhardt.com.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in Ken’s memory, to the Music Ministry at McGregor Baptist Church, 3750 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33966.
