Lois Mary Jastram, was a caring wife, mother, sister and friend who left this world far too soon on October 24, 2021 at the age of 68.
Lois was born on April 22, 1953 in Berwyn, Illinois to Joseph and Rose Kohoutek.
She was a longtime administrative assistant for Grayslake Community High School in Grayslake, Illinois.
Lois was married to Michael Jastram for 42 wonderful years. Together, their years were full of laughter, adventures, family and friends.
Lois was one-of-a-kind. She had a vivacious personality and could light up a room. Lois was known for her quick wit and great sense of humor. She was a dedicated mother who was devoted to her family and they will miss her dearly.
Lois was an avid reader and enjoyed boating. She loved cooking and especially enjoyed hosting her family and friends. The holidays were always a special and memorable time when Lois would go all out with decorations and create a warm and welcoming ambiance.
Her daughters will also remember Lois’ great taste. She was fashionable, knew how to wear jewelry and collected a variety of modern artwork to fill the walls of their home. Lois was well-known for her huge heart and elephant-like memory.
Lois is survived by her loving husband Michael, her daughters Lisa and Laura and their husbands, Dan Fornal of San Francisco and John Wrend of Portland, Oregon. She is also survived by her siblings Cheryl Blatchford of Carbondale, Illinois and Wayne Kohoutek of Plainfield, Illinois. And, Lois is survived by her mother-in-law Gloria Jastram Brown of Fort Myers, Florida.
There will be a celebration of Lois’ life at a memorial visitation on Thursday, November 18 at 2pm ET at Harvey-Engelhardt Funeral Services in Fort Myers, Florida.
