Paul Stanford Wentzell

October 31, 1940 ~ February 18, 2024 (age 83) 83 Years Old


Paul Stanford Wentzell of Alloway, New Jersey and later of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away after a brief illness. He was 83. A Halloween baby, Paul was born October 31 in Hyland Park, MI to the late Elmer and Margaret (Wheeler) Wentzell. He was raised in Alloway, New Jersey and graduated from Woodstown High School (’59). Paul began his career in construction working for the DuPont Company before starting his own general contracting business, Wentzell Builders, Inc. in 1981. He had a reputation for being an excellent carpenter, building custom homes and improving properties throughout South Jersey until his retirement in 2014. In his younger years, he was active in supporting his community as an EMT, a member of the Salem Exchange Club and as a Coordinator of the Alloway Halloween Parade.

Paul is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol Ann (Castellini) Wentzell, with whom he relocated to Fort Myers, FL in 2015. Paul is additionally survived by his twin daughters, Melissa Wentzell Scully of Fort Myers, FL and Melanie Wentzell McMahon (Shawn) of Baltimore, MD / Fort Myers as well as his youngest brother, Carl, of Hoover, AL, and his family. He is predeceased by his middle brother Jim.

Paul enjoyed his final years in Florida sunshine, golfing, spending time with friends and neighbors, and building boat models. He should be remembered for the craftsmanship and quick wit.
