Pauline Frances Pottorf

Pauline Frances Pottorf, 93, became our families Christmas Angel when she peacefully passed early Christmas morning at Hope Hospice, Fort Myers, FL. Mom was born in Maineville, Ohio, April 24, 1928. to parents, Bessie Jane and Louis Aaron Hatte,  She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Pottorf,  Brothers, Dale Hatte, Earl (Hank) Hatte, Albert (Joe) Hatte, Louis Aaron (Bud) Hatte, II,  Sisters, Irene (Tootle) Runyon, Opal Switzer, and Rosebud (Podie) Hines.  
She is survived her children, Jennifer Pottorf Benton, Darryl Richard Pottorf and Kevin Ray Pottorf.  Grandchildren, Roy L. Benton, III and Angela (Angie) D. Benton, Great-Grandchildren, Austin Tyler Benton, Ashley Lynn Glynn-Brant, John Aaron Benton, Madison Jewel Benton, Kyle Richard Glynn and Kaden Ryan Glynn.
Mom was such a caring and compassionate woman. If you ever came to our home, she always welcomed you whole-heartedly always asking, “Are you hungry? Let me fix you something to eat.” Even if you said no, she usually fixed it anyway, and sent it with you to go. Her compassion and care reached beyond just her family and friends.
She was a long-time volunteer for Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc., even becoming Volunteer of the Year. She was also a member of the McGregor Garden Club.  She dearly loved animals including her dogs and numerous cats so much that she continued to feed Ferrell cats at ACT seven days a week, morning and night until she could no longer.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, December 30th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Harvey-Engelhardt Funeral Home, 1600 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33907. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 31st beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Harvey-Engelhardt Funeral Home with Gravesite burial at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens following the service. A reception will follow at the home of Jennifer and Roy Benton.
