Peter Jonathan Adams

Peter passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 at Hope Hospice Joanne’s House, Bonita Springs, Florida after a three-year battle with cancer. He was 73 years old. He resided in Fort Myers, Florida since 2012. Born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to Claude and Lucille Adams on April 8, 1948, he grew up in Bucks County, PA. After graduating from Neshaminy High School in Langhorne, PA in 1966, he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1967. He was honorably discharged in 1972 at the rank of E5 Sergeant. He married Bonnie Ann Franks in 1969 where they went on to have two children, Lori and Scott.

Pete will be remembered as a man of principle and integrity in all aspects of his life. The three areas of his daily existence were taken up with the proclamation of Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, loving and providing for his family, and the belief that he lived in the greatest country this world has ever known. Pete believed a man’s word is his bond, honoring every commitment he made no matter how big or small with nothing more than a handshake. People in all areas of life sought advice from Pete. Whether it was giving business or financial advice, relationship guidance, or spiritual counseling, Pete always made time for others.

Peter was preceded in death by his granddaughter Jael Renee Woodlief (infant).

Peter is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years Bonnie (Franks) Adams. Their two children Lori (Shane) Woodlief and Scott (Mara) Adams. He is also blessed with two grandchildren Conor and Mackensey Woodlief.

A memorial service will begin at 11 AM on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Winkler Road Baptist Church located at 5770 Winkler Rd., Fort Myers, FL 33919. The church doors will be open 45 minutes prior to the memorial service. The service will also be live streamed for those who cannot be there in person. It can be viewed at WinklerRoadBaptistChurch.com live at 11 AM and will be later archived with the WRBC’s sermons.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask contributions be made to Winkler Road Baptist Church in remembrance of Pete Adams. These contributions will be used to support Worldwide Missions, which was very dear to Pete’s heart.

Pete’s life verse was Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
