Robert Edmund Frehill, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away in his sleep from long-term congestive heart failure in the warmth of his wife of 60 years, Louise (Kolb) at Health Park Hospital in Ft. Myers, Fla. on January 6, 2022. He lived almost all of his life in Norwell Mass., wintering in Ft. Myers in recent years. Bob was the son of the late William and Beatrice Frehill, and brother to twins Richard and Donald, all of whom preceded him in death. He leaves a sister, Rita Magnarelli of Halifax, Mass., a brother, William Jr. of Maine, three daughters, Lisa, Donna and Paula (Reid) and son-in-law Todd Hansen, two granddaughters, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bobby’s tenacity, drive, and compassion will long live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He had a career as an engineer and manager, rising from a draftsman at Raytheon to be the Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering at Telco. But he was also a master carpenter and a builder in both a real and metaphorical sense. He and his bride built their first home in Abington, Mass, returning to Norwell as the young family grew. More importantly, he built lasting friendships and was involved in community projects that enriched those who knew and loved him. He was an avid boater, who enjoyed reaping the bounty of the sea by lobstering, clamming, and fishing. Golf was another passion, by which he enjoyed the company of friends wherever he played.
In lieu of gifts, please make donations to Appalachian Christian Project (ChristianApp.org). A celebration of Bob’s life will be held in Massachusetts after the ice breaks.
