Thomas R. Pearson 66, of Fort Myers, FL passed away on January 7, 2022 after a long illness.
Tom was a native son of New Jersey, born in Elizabeth, the youngest son to Marshall and Dorothy (Gallagher) Pearson. He was a life-long NY Yankees and NY Giants fan and he spent many a happy summer “down the shore.”
In 1978, Tom met Eileen Deegan at Kean College in Union, NJ where they each earned a BA in music education. The two married in 1980 and enjoyed a successful career as the musical duo of “Tom and Ei” before having their three children, whom they raised in Glen Rock, NJ.
In 2013, Tom and Eileen decided to leave the cold and snow of northern New Jersey and settled in warm and sunny Fort Myers, FL.
Tom is at peace now, joining his parents, Marshall and Dorothy. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Eileen and their children: Lauren Kearney and her husband Pete, Scott and Rebecca. He is also survived by brother Marshall and his wife, Clara; brother Robert and his wife, Elaine; and two aunts and several nieces and nephews.
Those who had the great privilege of knowing Tom will miss his kind soul and enduring sense of humor. His passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts of all his family and friends.
At Tom’s request, a private requiem Mass will be celebrated at Saint Columbkille R.C. Church.
For those wishing to pay tribute, in lieu of flowers the family requests that you consider a donation to the Research Institute at Moffitt.org.
